My internship gave me the opportunity to help run a music festival called Music Alley in downtown Mansfield. The festival shut down the downtown streets so that festival goers could safely go from stage to stage and so that we could place activities throughout the festival grounds. They also wanted to have the SXSW feel for the music festival where you can go in and out of restaurants and still be within the festival grounds.
My job was to manage the stage and help out with some of the production. In this photo I was helping with the lighting in between sets.
I learned how the whole process for sound checks work.
The Farr Best stage is a 100 year old stage in Downtown Mansfield. My job was to run this stage. I made sure the artists’ stay was pleasureable and answered any questions that the artist had. I also made sure that attendees at the festival were safe and happy when they were at my stage. My whole job was to basically make the artists’ and attendees’ stay pleasing.
